Strengthening Maritime Bonds: INS Nireekshak's Pivotal Visit to Sri Lanka

In a significant step towards bolstering maritime ties, Indian Naval Ship (INS) Nireekshak has docked in Colombo, Sri Lanka, for an Operational Turnaround (OTR) and training mission. The vessel, led by Commander Sailesh Kumar Tyagi, was received with ceremonial honor by the Sri Lankan Navy.
During its time in Sri Lanka, INS Nireekshak will engage in a joint diving exercise - DIVEX 2026 - with the Sri Lankan Navy, focusing on specialized diving operations and enhancing operational interoperability. These initiatives underscore the commitment of both nations to maritime collaboration.
The visit also showcases India's humanitarian efforts, as INS Nireekshak will deliver health initiative cubes and ammunition to Sri Lanka, symbolizing solidarity and reinforcing mutual security objectives in the Indian Ocean Region.
