In a recent press conference, Delhi BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal criticized the Congress party for their role in the defeat of a crucial Constitutional amendment bill proposing to facilitate a women's quota.

Khandelwal described the bill's rejection as a 'great betrayal' to the women of India. The proposed 131st Constitution Amendment aimed to increase Lok Sabha seats from 543 to 850 and reserved 33% for women, targeting implementation before the 2029 general elections.

Out of 528 members, 298 supported the bill, while it needed 352 votes to pass. Khandelwal suggested political motives, hinting that Rahul Gandhi opposed it to prevent Priyanka Gandhi's potential rise within Congress.
