The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has submitted a proposal for building a foot over bridge (FOB) over Outer Ring Road to better connect the Pitampura metro station with Prashant Vihar and surrounding areas, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Following interventions by Rohini MLA and Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, the proposal has been forwarded to the Public Works Department (PWD) for necessary approvals. Residents' Welfare Associations (RWAs) had reported the existing access routes were causing difficulties, especially for senior citizens and vulnerable populations.
The DMRC's plan aims to rectify these issues, although modifications to road designs are necessary to meet safety and technical standards. Currently, safe station access is only from the Pitampura side, requiring residents to traverse longer, inconvenient routes.
