South Korea is set to launch a campaign aimed at increasing public involvement in its eco-friendly car rotation initiative by offering discounts on auto insurance. The scheme, reported by Yonhap News Agency, will begin in May and seeks voluntary participation over a five-day rotation period.
This move comes as part of the government's broader efforts to regulate vehicle use in the public sector. Earlier in the month, restrictions were placed on public institutions' vehicle access, affecting roughly 11,000 organizations. Vehicles are now regulated based on their license plate numbers, in an effort to reduce emissions and encourage sustainable practices.
Through these measures, South Korea aims to lead by example in the fight against climate change, showing that collective action can significantly impact environmental goals. As insurance benefits serve as incentives, the initiative hopes to attract widespread public participation.
