Vietnam's leader To Lam is hosting South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, marking their second meeting within the year to bolster high-tech industry cooperation. Vietnam, a predominant exporter of electronic goods, seeks support from South Korea to advance its semiconductor sector.
Seoul, the largest investor in Vietnam, is looking to participate in Vietnamese state projects like nuclear power and urban development, enhancing its cultural and agricultural exchanges. The meeting aims to reaffirm a bilateral trade target of $150 billion by 2030.
With contributions from Samsung and other South Korean firms, the focus is on expanding technology partnerships and training programs, positioning Vietnam to reduce its reliance on Chinese electronic parts amidst U.S. trade pressures.
