In a significant move toward empowering local residents, 31 villages within the 'Lal Dora' areas of Delhi are on the brink of receiving ownership rights to their land. This was announced by South Delhi BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.
Bidhuri highlighted that property cards will be issued, thus enabling villagers to apply for bank loans—a long-standing challenge due to the lack of formal registration of 'Lal Dora' lands, which are village habitation areas (Abadi).
This development follows a series of correspondence with Union ministers and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The initiative has been facilitated under the 'SVAMITVA Scheme' with special ministerial permission, resulting in drone-mapped surveys completed in collaboration with the Survey of India.
