The district administration shot down claims by the UDF opposition that a strong room holding EVMs in Perambra was improperly accessed. Collector Snehil Kumar Singh explained that an unsealed material room was opened to update polling records in accordance with Election Commission rules, without tampering with the secured EVM room.
Both LDF and UDF representatives witnessed the records verification process, ensuring transparency. Despite allegations from Congress figures that the procedure violated norms, the administration assured oversight and compliance with election protocol.
Concerns continue to iterate around electoral integrity with Congress questioning the need to open any area within secured perimeters before the official counting day. The results for the 140 constituencies from the April 9 elections are anticipated on May 4.
