The court in Nashik, Maharashtra, has refused interim protection from arrest for Nida Khan, accused in a significant sexual harassment and religious coercion probe at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) unit. Khan's anticipatory bail application, following her two-month pregnancy plea, was deliberated over by Additional Sessions Judge K G Joshi.
The Nashik Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT) continues its investigation involving Khan, who is alleged to have targeted staff within a WhatsApp group, encouraging them to partake in religious activities. Eight TCS unit employees have been arrested, fuelling concerns over workplace harassment.
The SIT has intensified its search for Khan across Maharashtra, with TCS asserting a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, leading to employee suspensions amidst ongoing inquiries. The court will further address the bail plea on April 27, as the investigation continues.
