In a significant development, South Korean technology leader NAVER Corp has teamed up with India's Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to bolster their collaborative efforts. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday, amid 15 other agreements at the India-Korea Business Forum, to enhance bilateral technological and business operations.
The partnership will see TCS setting up a delivery centre in India, which will serve as an extension of NAVER's Korean teams. This strategic move will enable NAVER to leverage TCS's expertise in market research, particularly for mapping services, as part of a planned expansion into the Indian market.
NAVER, known for its innovative solutions in AI, cloud computing, and other tech domains, aims to maintain control over its platforms, even as TCS facilitates operations through an offshore center. This collaboration underscores the merging of capabilities between South Korea's prominent ICT firm and India's largest IT service provider.
