A high-level panel has been initiated to investigate the alleged mistreatment of two Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers at Lok Bhavan. These officers, belonging to the 2015 and 2023 batches, were reportedly subjected to offensive treatment and removed from the premises.
The officers accompanied Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Dr. D Sudhakara Rao, who was meeting the Governor. Allegedly, they faced harsh behavior from staff and were forcibly taken to the Capital Police Station after being accused, falsely, of being inebriated.
The matter has been escalated to the governor's office, with a senior official confirming that a four-member committee is set to deliver a report soon. This incident highlights the need for respectful treatment towards civil servants.
