The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be a fundamental part of the state's school curriculum. This decision was unveiled at a high-level AI conference organized by PSEB, aimed at reshaping the educational landscape.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains described the initiative as transformational for the education ecosystem, emphasizing its importance in meeting the demands of a tech-driven society. PSEB Chairman Amarpal Singh stressed that AI will be a core subject, impacting learning outcomes and student certificates. "The question is not whether AI will influence education, but how we can shape that influence responsibly," he stated.
Industry leaders, policymakers, and educators shared insights on integrating AI responsibly. An exhibition showcased AI-based startup projects, reinforcing the synergy between education and technology. The event concluded with panel discussions on policy, technology, and workforce readiness, highlighting the intersection of these vital elements.
