The Delhi High Court has reversed a trial court’s ruling, reuniting three Pomeranians with their adoptive parents. The decision followed allegations that the original owner kept the dogs in poor conditions.
Rescued in 2025, and later adopted, the dogs’ custody was re-evaluated after the original owner sought their return legally. Justice Girish Kathpalia emphasized the significance of emotional ties between the animals and their caregivers.
He mandated the dogs’ return to their adoptive parents, acknowledging the 'emotional trauma' caused by their separation. Furthermore, the court arranged for the owner to regain custody only upon their acquittal and contingent on the pets’ welfare.
