In a disturbing incident in Lahore, unidentified gunmen opened fire on Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) co-founder Amir Hamza, inflicting bullet wounds. The attack occurred on Peco Road, targeting a vehicle affiliated with the 24NewsHD TV channel, which is owned by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The Punjab Police promptly registered a case against the unknown assailants, though the FIR remains sealed as intelligence agencies have taken over the investigation. Senior police officials and a large contingent responded swiftly, imposing a high alert and gathering evidence from the scene.
Efforts to track and apprehend the suspects are underway, utilizing advanced techniques like CCTV analysis and geo-fencing. Meanwhile, prominent political figures have visited Hamza, who is recovering. The attack has drawn strong condemnation from the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League, urging swift justice.
