Sebi and DoT Collaborate to Combat Securities Fraud
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has signed an agreement with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to share data regularly, aiming to reduce fraud in the securities market. The agreement, effective from April 15, utilizes DoT's Digital Intelligence Platform for real-time intelligence sharing to combat cybercrime.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) announced on Wednesday its collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) through a newly signed agreement. This initiative aims to facilitate regular data sharing to mitigate fraud in the securities market.
Effective April 15, the memorandum of understanding (MoU) capitalizes on DoT's Digital Intelligence Platform. This platform is designed to create a secure framework for real-time intelligence sharing among various stakeholders, targeting cybercrime and financial fraud specifically by enabling proactive measures against telecom resource misuse.
The MoU signifies a commitment to coordinated efforts, marked by its signing by Sanjeev Sharma, DDG (AI & DIU), DoT, and Sandip Pradhan, Whole Time Member, Sebi, in front of senior officials from both organizations.
