Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday presented a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting 18 crucial issues that demand immediate federal attention. Prominent among these are the need for constitutional protection of Karnataka's reservation policy and the prompt release of financial grants.

The Chief Minister stressed that delays in approvals and fund distribution from the Union government create systemic inequities, urging Modi to address these concerns to strengthen cooperative federalism and support Karnataka's developmental role. Key requests include inclusion of certain categories in the central reservation list and swift implementation of pending projects like the Mekedatu and high-speed rail initiatives.

Siddaramaiah underscored the necessity of releasing the pending central aid of Rs 17,554 crore and resolving policy matters to ensure access to safe drinking water and completion of national highway projects. The memorandum also mentioned establishing AIIMS in Raichur and enhancing energy infrastructure to align with India's renewable energy goals.
