Dr. M A Saleem, an IPS officer serving as the Director General and Inspector General of Police, remains at the helm of the Karnataka police force. The government directive underscores that his term will continue till late August 2027 or until further orders are issued.

Saleem, who became Karnataka's 43rd DGP on May 21, 2025, stepped into the position following the retirement of his predecessor, Alok Mohan. This extension signifies continued stability and leadership within the state's police force.
