Dr Bharat Bastewad Takes Charge as Latur's New Collector
Dr Bharat Bastewad has been appointed as the new collector of Latur district by the Maharashtra government. He replaces Varsha Thakur-Ghuge, who has been transferred to Mumbai as the Joint CEO of MIDC. The government also announced the transfer of 25 IAS officers in total.

In a recent administrative reshuffle, Dr Bharat Bastewad has been appointed as the new collector of Latur district, according to an official order from the Maharashtra government.
Bastewad was previously serving as the commissioner of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Nagpur. He replaces Varsha Thakur-Ghuge, who has been transferred to Mumbai to serve as the Joint Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation.
The reshuffle, which involved the transfer of 25 IAS officers including several municipal commissioners and district collectors, reflects a strategic move by the government to bolster administrative efficiency across different regions.
