In a significant operation in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, local police have successfully apprehended three individuals believed to be part of a 'honey trap' gang. The group, which includes two women, is accused of extorting money from a former soldier by threatening him with a false rape allegation.

According to police officer Prakash Vaskale from the Badgonda police station, the scheme involved one of the women contacting the victim via social media, leading to an invitation to a resort where the extortion plot unfolded. The victim was coerced into paying Rs 2 lakh under the threat of being implicated in a fabricated rape charge.

Authorities have also discovered that the gang exploited another individual, extracting Rs 28,000. The involved resort has been scrutinized and sealed for failing to maintain proper guest records. Legal action has been initiated against the operator under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
