Police in Meerut are taking action after a man allegedly made objectionable remarks about former prime minister Chaudhary Charan Singh during a live social media broadcast. The incident has sparked a case and protests.
Daurala Circle Officer Prakash Chandra Agrawal confirmed that three police teams, including a cyber cell unit, have been set up to investigate and arrest the suspect, Ramavatar Palsania. Digital evidence will guide their actions.
The complainant, Gaurav Jitauli, regional general secretary of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), said the remarks have hurt community sentiments. RLD workers protested, urging police to act against Palsania, the International Jat Parliament founder-president.
