A court in Rajasthan's Kota has handed life sentences to 12 family members in connection with a murder that arose from a goat dispute. The verdict was issued by the Additional Secession Court (Woman Harassment), Kota.
In the case dating back to 2018, Istiyak Hussain was killed during a peace negotiation meeting. He was attacked with sharp weapons as tensions escalated between the two families involved in the dispute. Despite earlier resolution attempts, the incident turned violent, leading to the young man's death.
Sentenced individuals, including two women, hail from Bombay Yojana. The court's decision marks the culmination of years of legal efforts and augments the focus on familial conflict resolution. They were taken into custody following the order.
