Chhattisgarh High Court Convicts Amit Jogi in 2003 Murder Case

The Chhattisgarh High Court has delivered a significant verdict by convicting Amit Jogi, son of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, in the 2003 murder case of NCP leader Ramavatar Jaggi.

The court overturned Jogi's previous acquittal, directing him to surrender within three weeks. This decision follows the reopening of the proceedings last month, as directed by the Supreme Court.

Initially investigated by the state police, the case was later handed over to the CBI, which had filed charges against several accused, including Jogi. Though acquitted in 2007, the CBI's challenge was dismissed in 2011 due to delays. The Supreme Court's intervention has now led to this development.
