Russia has embarked on a relentless aerial assault on Ukraine, marking a significant escalation since Thursday evening, Ukraine's air force confirmed on Friday. An extensive wave of enemy drones has infiltrated Ukrainian skies, causing heightened tensions.
Yurii Ihnat, the air force spokesman, revealed on state television that in just the past 24 hours, over 400 long-range drones have been dispatched. This air offensive also included the launch of ten ballistic missiles primarily aimed at strategic points near the frontline.
The military offensive underscores the persistent volatility in the region amid ongoing conflicts, raising serious concerns within the international community regarding potential broader implications.
