India Strengthens Energy Ties with Russia Amid Global Market Volatility

In a bid to stabilize the volatile global energy market, Russia has extended an offer to boost its supply of crude oil and natural gas to India, amidst ongoing crises in West Asia. This development follows key discussions between Russian and Indian governmental leaders aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Meetings in New Delhi involving Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and top Indian officials such as National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar highlighted energy cooperation. Manturov further discussed trade and industrial cooperation with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
These talks come at a crucial time as disruptions in global oil and gas supplies through the Strait of Hormuz escalate. The Russia-India dialogue also covered a wide range of topics, from trade to technological innovation, as both nations focus on creating favorable conditions for increased bilateral trade and further deepening their strategic partnership.
