Stray Drones Spark Tensions in Baltic Region Amid Ukraine Conflict

Drones originating from Ukraine have reportedly strayed into Estonian airspace, intended for Russian targets, according to Estonian armed forces late Tuesday. The Baltic country's military detected drones both inside and outside its borders.

Estonia's army spokesperson indicated these drones appear to have been launched by Ukraine to strike military objectives in Russia but inadvertently entered Estonian territory. Meanwhile, Finnish authorities confirmed a similar incident occurred in their airspace, identifying the drone's origin as Ukrainian.

The NATO Baltic air policing mission has been mobilized, with concerns that such incidents may become more frequent due to ongoing aggression between Russia and Ukraine. Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, assures regional cooperation efforts to prevent further incidents.
