Russia rejected Ukraine's proposition for an Easter truce, labeling it a 'PR stunt' by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. The Russian Foreign Ministry insisted that Ukraine's offer was a strategy to regroup its forces.
In response, Zelenskiy stated that he would seek U.S. mediation to communicate Ukraine's offer to halt aggressive actions against energy infrastructure to the Kremlin, urging reciprocal restraint.
Despite the Kremlin's claim of insufficient proposals, Zelenskiy reiterated Ukraine's readiness to respond proportionally to Russian actions on the battlefield.
