A parliamentary panel has expressed concern over prolonged stagnation at supervisory levels within the Central Armed Police Forces, warning that it could negatively affect both morale and career growth. As a solution, the panel recommends a comprehensive review of the cadre structure to better understand vacancy positions and optimize promotion timelines.
The Standing Committee on Home Affairs, headed by Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, insists on timely actions such as rationalizing promotional quotas and holding Departmental Promotion Committee meetings regularly. The aim is to ensure a fair, timely career progression framework that maintains parity within different CAPFs.
The Committee also recommends that Limited Departmental Competitive Examinations for promoting to Assistant Commandant should be overseen by the Union Public Service Commission. This move is intended to enhance transparency and credibility across the board, addressing current concerns, especially within the CISF.
