The joint operation, which spanned over 8 to 10 hours, began after a tip-off regarding a suspicious chemical entering Indian waters near the international maritime boundary line, approximately 140 nautical miles from Porbandar.
The suspects were apprehended at around 8 p.m. on Monday evening aboard a speed boat alleged to have come from Iran, with intentions of delivering the material to an individual in Punjab. The boat, along with 203 packets of a white powdery substance, was seized for further forensic analysis.
