In a tragic incident, a 73-year-old woman named Bindeshwari Kushavah succumbed to burn injuries after her saree caught fire at a temple in Thane district, Maharashtra, on February 14.
According to the police in Ambernath West, the unfortunate accident occurred when her saree accidentally brushed against a lit 'diya' while she was offering prayers at the local Lord Shiva temple.
Despite the efforts of locals who immediately rushed her to Ulhasnagar Central Hospital, she passed away on Sunday. Authorities have documented the occurrence as an accidental death.
