In a significant parliamentary development, eight members of the Lok Sabha have been handed suspensions for their 'unruly behavior'. The suspension, which will last the remainder of the Budget session, bars the members from entering parliament, participating in committees, and listing House business under their names.

Those affected include Congress representatives Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Hibi Eden, Dean Kuriakose, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Manickam Tagore, Prashant Padole, and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, alongside CPI(M) member S Venkatesan. The Lok Sabha Secretariat's circular highlighted that the suspension is in line with Rule 374 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business.

Moreover, the members will not be eligible for any daily allowances during their suspension as their presence is not considered 'residence on duty'. They are also banned from voting in committee elections during this period, marking a notable disciplinary measure in parliamentary conduct.
