In a significant international operation, nearly 500 Indian nationals who have crossed into Thailand after fleeing notorious scam centers in Myanmar are set to be repatriated by the Indian government. The efforts are in collaboration with Thai authorities, sources said on Wednesday.

To facilitate the safe return of affected citizens, India is contemplating dispatching an aircraft to Thailand. Most of these individuals are victims of scams operated from Myanmar's KK Park, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul stated, confirming their presence in Mae Sot.

According to a UN report, these scam centers, involved in transnational cybercrime, have entrapped over 1,500 individuals from 28 countries. Similar operations are observed in Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines, and Malaysia, linked to global criminal networks.
