NCW Intensifies Efforts Against Cross-Border Human Trafficking with Mizoram Police and Assam Rifles

The National Commission for Women (NCW) is ramping up efforts to curb human trafficking along the India-Myanmar border. An official statement highlighted ongoing cooperation between the NCW, Mizoram Police, and Assam Rifles.
Delina Khongdup, an NCW member, conducted a site visit to Zokhawthar village, near the border. She engaged in discussions with law enforcement and Assam Rifles personnel on women's safety and empowerment initiatives.
Khongdup appealed for enhanced collaboration between state police and Assam Rifles, who oversee the India-Myanmar boundary, to preempt potential human trafficking activities. The meeting included State Commission for Women chairperson C Zodinpuii and other dignitaries.
