Major Ganja Seizure Cripples Drug Trade in Odisha
Odisha Police seized over Rs 16 crore worth of ganja in Malkangiri district, arresting three drug peddlers. A total of 1,650 kg was confiscated from three locations within 24 hours, with further investigations ongoing to apprehend more individuals involved in this inter-state illegal operation.

In a decisive move against drug trafficking, the Odisha Police have seized more than Rs 16 crore worth of ganja in the Malkangiri district over the past 24 hours. This successful operation led to the arrest of three drug peddlers, according to police officials.
The operation yielded a substantial haul of 1,650 kg of ganja, confiscated from three separate locations within the district, said SP Vinodh Patil H. Among the seizures, 770 kg was intercepted in the Orkel police station area on Tuesday as the contraband was being transported by truck.
Additionally, police seized 640 kg in Chitrakonda and another 250 kg in the Kalimela police station area. Three arrested suspects are believed to be inter-state drug peddlers from Uttar Pradesh. The authorities have initiated further investigations to dismantle the larger network involved in this illicit trade.
