A peace meeting in Chittapur aimed at resolving tensions over a proposed route march by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and other organizations failed to reach a consensus on Tuesday. The meeting was held following an order from the Karnataka High Court.

Kalaburagi Deputy Commissioner Fouzia Taranum chaired the meeting, which included representatives from ten organizations, such as RSS, Bhim Army, and others. Contentions arose over the RSS's preference for carrying lathis and saffron flags, in contrast to demands for national symbols.

The denial of a permit for the RSS march on October 19 by Chittapur authorities, citing potential law and order issues, set the stage for the current impasse. The High Court is set to review the matter on October 30.
