A peace meeting convened in Chittapur to deliberate on granting permission for a route march by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) failed to reach consensus. Official sources confirmed this on Tuesday.
The meeting, directed by the Karnataka High Court’s Kalaburagi bench last Friday, was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Fouzia Taranum. Representatives from ten organizations, including the RSS and the Bhim Army, participated in the discussions.
The discussions centered around demands for the RSS to conduct the march using the national flag and the Constitution's preamble instead of lathis and a saffron flag. While the RSS representatives dismissed these requests, opposing parties argued that such marches could incite tensions and proposed organizing their own marches. This discord led to an inconclusive meeting.
