A 42-year-old man with connections to two notorious criminal gangs has been apprehended in Jharkhand, police confirmed on Friday.
Dashrath Shukla, residing in the Tuiladungri area under Golmuri police jurisdiction, was captured near the Sun Temple on Thursday after a tip-off, according to SP (Rural) Praveen Pushkar. Authorities seized a loaded pistol from Shukla, and a subsequent search revealed two more pistols and 17 cartridges in his bag.
During questioning, Shukla disclosed he received six pistols from Inamul Haq, aka Bablu Khan, and had already distributed three to associates. The weapons supply, linked to gangs of Sujeet Sinha and Prince Khan, includes 21 pistols intended for extortion efforts targeting local businessmen. Ongoing investigations seek to confirm if the recovered firearms are part of this batch.
