Sabarimala Gold Scandal: High Court Scrutiny Exposes Alleged Corruption

The Kerala High Court has intensified its scrutiny of the alleged gold theft from the Sabarimala temple, with recent observations supporting the United Democratic Front's (UDF) accusations against the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB).

Leader of Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, V D Satheesan, has alleged that both the state Devaswom Minister V N Vasavan and TDB president P S Prasanth were involved in what he termed a 'big robbery' at Sabarimala. He claims the TDB's decision to engage Unnikrishnan Potty—a Bengaluru businessman previously accused of fraud in the temple's gold-plating project—speaks to their culpability.

The High Court has extended the Special Investigation Team's (SIT) probe to consider a larger conspiracy involving TDB officials, amid revelations that temple gold was improperly handled. As the investigation continues, ten individuals have been named in the case, highlighting deeper concerns of corruption.
