The Pakistan Navy has made a significant seizure of drugs valued at approximately $1 billion in the Arabian Sea, as reported by the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), a coalition of 47 nations committed to maritime security.
Acting in support of the Saudi-led Combined Task Force 150, the Pakistan Navy Ship Yarmook captured more than $972 million worth of narcotics during Operation Al Masmak, launched on October 16. This initiative aims to combat the smuggling of illicit substances in key maritime regions.
The operation successfully intercepted two dhows without proper identification. Subsequent searches on these vessels revealed over two tons of crystal methamphetamine and significant quantities of cocaine. The operation highlights the critical role of multilateral collaborations in maintaining regional stability and security.
