Dr. Rekha Chaudhari's World Digital Detox Day initiative has been awarded the prestigious Global Peace Award in Dubai by the Global Peace Institute and Global Peace Organisation. This international recognition highlights the movement's pivotal role in advancing digital well-being and advocating for child protection.
Founded by Dr. Chaudhari, WDDD has emerged as the world's largest digital wellness initiative, impacting over 8.5 million people across 78 countries. The movement calls for digital fasting, smartphone-free childhoods, and ethical digital behavior in response to the growing mental health crisis. This year, WDDD was acknowledged by the Supreme Court of India and other global entities for its efforts in pushing for stronger child protection laws.
With World Digital Detox Day officially observed on December 10 each year, the initiative is urging individuals, schools, and governments to practice Digital Fasting. By working with UN bodies, WHO frameworks, and global CSR leaders, WDDD aims to prioritize digital well-being as a collective policy initiative.
