Jharkhand Police Pay Tribute on Police Commemoration Day
The Jharkhand Police honored their fallen personnel on Police Commemoration Day. DGP Anurag Gupta and senior officers paid their respects at JAP-1 Ground. A total of 191 personnel, including one from Jharkhand, lost their lives in service between 2024 and 2025.

The Jharkhand Police on Tuesday paid tribute to their fallen comrades in a solemn ceremony on Police Commemoration Day. The event, held at the Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP-1) Ground, saw senior officers, including DGP Anurag Gupta, laying floral tributes to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the deceased personnel.
Among the 191 personnel who lost their lives across the country between September 2024 and August 2025, Sunil Dhan from the Jharkhand Jaguar was killed in an IED blast during an anti-Naxal operation in West Singhbhum district, stated IG (Operations) Michael Raj S. The operation took place in the dense forest region of Ratamati village.
Commemorative parades and programs were also held across various districts, such as Dumka, Garhwa, West Singhbhum, and Ramgarh, to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
