The Haj pilgrimage from India for 2026 is poised to commence on April 18, marking the start of a spiritually significant journey for approximately 1,75,025 pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia from various embarkation points nationwide.

Union Minister of Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju extended his heartfelt wishes to the pilgrims, emphasizing the Indian government's dedication to facilitating a seamless, safe, and comfortable Haj experience. The Ministry of Minority Affairs, acting as the nodal ministry for Haj operations, has unveiled several new initiatives this year to enhance services and overall facilitation.

Coordination between the Government of India, the Haj Committee of India, various Central Ministries, State Governments, and Saudi Arabian authorities has resulted in comprehensive arrangements for improved logistics, travel support, and on-ground assistance. Key enhancements include the Haj Suvidha App and Smart Wristbands for digital facilitation, emergency assistance, expanded insurance coverage, high-speed train connectivity, real-time monitoring, and improved healthcare services. Streamlined embarkation procedures aim at ensuring hassle-free departures from 17 embarkation points, ensuring a well-organized pilgrimage experience.
