Imran Khan's sister, Aleema Khanum, has publicly criticized the Pakistani government's handling of the former Prime Minister's medical treatment while he remains incarcerated. Khan, detained for over 800 days, is reportedly grappling with worsening health issues.
In a post on the social media platform X, Khanum stressed that the family's request for the involvement of specialist doctors, alongside family representatives, in Khan's medical evaluations continues to be ignored. The government has declined the family's proposals for representatives, including qualified doctors Uzma Khan and Nausherwan Burki, to be present during examinations.
A recent Supreme Court order, following Khan's claim of impaired vision, led to a medical team assessing his condition at Adiala Jail. Despite initial reports of an imminent hospital transfer, authorities dismissed the claims as baseless, sparking further concern from Khan's family over the transparency and adequacy of his medical care.
