In a rousing display on the T20 World Cup stage, India secured a 61-run victory over Pakistan, propelling them into the Super 8 stage with their third consecutive win in the tournament. This victory not only reinforced India's dominance but also heightened national honor, said Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.
Speaking to reporters, Maurya lauded the team, asserting that the emotional dynamics leading up to the match underscored Pakistan's initial hesitance, which he attributed to fear of losing. India, led by the confident performances of Suryakumar Yadav and his squad, left no stone unturned in securing a historic win to maintain their competitive edge.
Despite early setbacks, India managed to post a formidable 175/7 on the scoreboard, thanks to strategic innings from Yadav, Dube, and Singh. India's bowling attack dismantled Pakistan for just 114 runs in 18 overs, with Axar Patel, Hardik, and Bumrah among the standout performers. Continuing their unbeaten run, India now leads the T20 World Cup head-to-head against Pakistan 8-1, with Maurya expressing steadfast confidence in future victories.
