Seychelles is becoming a top choice for Indian travelers, as it enters the nation's top ten source markets, according to Principal Secretary for Tourism Sherin Francis. She highlighted the deep historical and cultural bonds that exist between India and Seychelles, stating that Indian visitors would feel "right at home" in the island country.
Francis pointed out the significance of India's growing presence in Seychelles' tourism sector, especially with direct flights now available, connecting the two regions more conveniently. "India is a very important market for us," she said, emphasizing the shared historical ties and potential for growth in tourism.
In 2023, Indian tourists accounted for 2.2% of Seychelles' total visitors, marking a massive 53.4% increase from 2022. Sustainable tourism remains a key focus for Seychelles, and Francis expressed eagerness to strengthen collaborations with India in creative fields, notably in filmmaking, as part of ongoing development strategies.
