France and Germany have called on the European Commission to introduce a comprehensive 'financial services simplification package,' as outlined in a letter obtained by Reuters on Tuesday.
The letter, addressed to Financial Services Commissioner Maria Luis Albuquerque, was penned by German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil and French counterpart Roland Lescure, highlighting the need to simplify existing EU financial regulations to bolster European market competitiveness.
The ministers emphasized specific areas such as streamlining reporting procedures and simplifying cyber reporting, with plans to contribute further input on banking regulation to the commission.
