Trump's Uranium Retrieval: A Nuclear Deal Unfolding?
President Donald Trump announced a plan to work with Iran to recover enriched uranium and transport it to the U.S. He expressed optimism about negotiating a nuclear deal and emphasized the peaceful intentions of Iran's nuclear program. Trump's administration denies rumors of a cash-for-uranium deal.
President Donald Trump, in a conversation with Reuters, revealed efforts to collaborate with Iran to retrieve and repatriate its enriched uranium to the United States. Speaking confidently, Trump stated, "We're going to get it together," indicating plans to move forward at a "nice leisurely pace."
Trump referenced "nuclear dust," alluding to remnants from previous bombings on Iran's nuclear sites, suggesting the operation would commence imminently. Iran possesses over 900 pounds of uranium enriched to 60% purity, amidst ongoing tensions surrounding its nuclear program's intentions.
Aiming to finalize negotiations, Trump stressed the continuance of the U.S. naval blockade until a satisfactory agreement is reached, dismissing speculations of a $20 billion monetary exchange as "totally false." Talks between the two nations are set to advance over the upcoming weekend.
