On Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini highlighted the horticulture sector's significant role in the state's economy during his review of the Mukhyamantri Bagwani Beema Yojana (MBBY).

The chief minister emphasized the scheme's importance in providing financial security to farmers suffering from crop losses due to natural disasters. Covering 46 horticulture crops, the initiative protects a wide array of produce, including 23 vegetables and 21 fruits.

Moreover, Saini announced strategic enhancements, including higher compensation as proposed in the Budget 2026-27, and the inclusion of beekeepers. His directives focused on increasing the scheme's publicity to ensure maximum reach and on-ground oversight for effective implementation.
