Singapore Police have promised to provide necessary aid in the ongoing investigation into the death of popular Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, being conducted by the Assam Special Investigation Team (SIT). This assurance came during a press meet where SIT Chief Munna Prasad Gupta detailed the collaborations with Singapore authorities.
The SIT, having furnished queries to their Singapore counterparts, seeks detailed responses concerning individuals potentially in custody there. Singapore’s legal framework necessitates a meticulous approach, especially since those questioned are Singapore residents, necessitating compliance with local judicial processes.
A visit by a two-member SIT delegation to Singapore included discussions with India’s High Commission and Singapore Police, resulting in a shared commitment to progress in the case. Valuable insights, such as the post-mortem report confirming drowning as Garg’s cause of death, were acquired.
