In April 2025, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, J-K caused devastation, leading to a decline in tourism. One year on, security has been heightened, and tourists are flocking back to the scenic meadows, bolstered by comprehensive safety arrangements.
Tourists express satisfaction with the enhanced safety measures. Ashutosh Kosaria from Chhattisgarh likened the security presence to that in Bastar, while Tanushree Dutta from Kolkata praised the Army's vigilance, despite the past incident.
With many sites reopened and new transportation options, such as the Vande Bharat train, visitors are drawn back to Kashmir's beauty. The successful Amarnath Yatra also contributes to the region's recovering tourism sector.
