Telangana's Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, has set an ambitious target to elevate the state to the status of South Asia's textile capital by 2047. Speaking at ATEXCON 2026, Reddy outlined plans to develop superior infrastructure and foster rapid execution to attract global investors and industry leaders.
The 'Telangana Rising 2047' vision aims to transform the local economy into a USD three trillion powerhouse, with the textile industry as a key component of this growth strategy. Emphasis will be placed on creating an end-to-end textile ecosystem, extending from local cotton fields to international fashion hubs.
Reddy reaffirmed the importance of environmental sustainability by proposing the establishment of 'green textile hubs'. He highlighted Telangana's strengths in cotton production and outlined plans to integrate the film industry with local textile production, further enhancing the state's economic and cultural footprint.
