Odisha Unveils Grand Heritage Tourism Plans with Rs 585 Crore Investment
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a major investment to transform Satyabadi Bana and Bakula Bana in Puri district into a heritage tourism site. With a combined investment of Rs 585 crore, the redevelopment will emphasize cultural and educational aspects, enhancing the area's historical significance.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced plans for developing Satyabadi Bana and the nearby Bakula Bana in Puri district as a heritage tourism site with an investment of Rs 585 crore. The historic schools in the area, which trace back to the early 20th century, are set for a transformative revamp.
The project will see an expenditure of Rs 90 crore on Bakula Bana, aiming to transform the site into a cultural and spiritual center while preserving its historical identity. Additionally, Satyabadi area will undergo redevelopment costing Rs 495 crore, including a heritage corridor.
The plans reflect the government's commitment to preserving 'Odia Asmita' (pride) and cultural heritage. Other initiatives include a proposed Shri Jagannath Museum and Library, and infrastructure developments in Puri, making it a modern tourist attraction.
